Traffic People

Traffic People was born in the heart of London, on the stalls of Portobello Road and Camden market. The designs were fresh and edgy, but imbued with a sense of the opulence and humor that pervaded the styles of the 20s and 30s. The clientele were style-conscious young women, very aware of how they looked and always on the lookout for the latest fashion trends.

Since opening its first store in 2002 in East London, Traffic People expanded quickly, supplying many boutiques throughout Britain. A network of distributors supplying shops throughout Europe soon followed, and today, Traffic People can be found in hundreds of stores around the world, as well on some of the world’s most desired fashion websites.

From the beginning, Traffic People has looked to a small in-house design team to create elegant and wearable designs, constantly evolving from one season to the next. The ethos has always been to add a touch of glamour to each outfit, whether it is for a special occasion, a relaxing holiday, a night out on the town, or a day in the office.

Traffic People’s range of trademark styles has been eclectic, including jumpsuits, playsuits, boleros, capes, cocktail dresses and maxis. More recently, Traffic People’s 30s styling have been supplemented by nods to later decades, bringing in such designs as the 50s wiggle dress and swing skirt, and styling such as 70s disco glamour.
